DragParts.com Blown Alcohol Thunder Q&A

Interested in competing in with us? Here's a quick Q and A. Feel free to Contact Us Here! for information not covered here!

Q: Is this a members only association and if so can I still compete if I'm not a member?

A: Blown Alcohol Thunder (BAT) is not a members only association and you can enter individual races that suites your schedule. There is no fee or formal membership to race in any of our events.

Q: Can I just show up at a race or do I have to pre-enter?

A: It is recommended that you pre-enter in advance for free entry as some tracks have a quota while others do not. If you did not pre-enter for a certain race feel to call the track or Contact Us Here! to make arrangements.

Q: Where and how do I pre-enter?

A: Pre-entry forms for each event are available on this website below. Print them out and send them in at the address on the entry form.

Q: Can I compete utilizing my Top Dragster or Pro Sportsman car?

A: There are very few rules in BAT but you must have an NHRA or IHRA competitor's licence and the chassis must past the track's tech. BAT is open to dragsters, funny cars, altereds (roadsters), and pro mods. The engine has to be either blown and injected on alcohol or injected on nitro. Race cars with carbs are not aloud to compete.

Q: How does the Blown Alcohol Thunder format work?

A: BAT is a "Chicago style" format meaning each car make two passes and then the quickest two cars come back for the finals. There is a 6.75 target ET in the quartermile so the two car closest to the 6.75 go to the final round. In the final round the 6.75 target ET is still in effect. The 6.75 target is utilized in order to keep the costs down in the class. Most cars run high sixes and low sevens so that's a full pull for most of them. In the eighth mile the format is the same but the target is 4.25 except in Montana where it is 4.50.

Q: Does BAT or the track enforce the rules in competition and who handles the payout?

A: The track makes all final decisions during competition and enforces the rules in competition. The track's decisions are final. The track also handles the payout and they all have good credibility there has been no problems or complaints getting paid since the series began.
